In April, a Prague developer pulled us out Mint Living at the Vysočanský mill. We enjoyed this place — it's a mix of pure modern architecture and open-air art, where our mobile sauna with its perforated wall fit perfectly.
For visitors were waiting four courses of sauna rituals. Meanwhile, the sauna was open to all saunters who wanted to warm up on a cooler April evening. Afterwards, they could cool off in an intimate tent and relax anywhere on the platform — everyone found their “spot” according to the mood. Bistro Čejka fine-tuned the overall atmosphere with its meat specialties and a selection of beer and wine. For us, this event is a perfect example of how to revitalize the public space and consolidate the local community.

Hradec is a matter of the heart for us. Our sauna parked right next to the famous concrete library designed by Projektil and Brychta Architects—which locals call nothing else but the "Emmental" (Swiss cheese). And as they say, birds of a feather—or in this case, perforation to perforation—flock together! We’ve overheard sauna-goers more than once debating whether the library was our inspiration. Even though our sauna was created independently, it looked perfectly organic standing next to the "Emmental."
Hradec Sauna Day is, in our opinion, one of the best sauna festivals in the Czech Republic. Its format was brought all the way from Helsinki by the founders of the NUUK community sauna. This year, public, private, and pop-up saunas filled 23 locations across the city with a total of 29 sweat rooms. Over 400 visitors spent the day sweating hard and cooling off in local ponds, rivers, or our cooling tub. It was a wonderful event full of good vibes, sunshine, endless sweat, and people in bathrobes strolling through the city. We’re already looking forward to next year!
